After many years of traveling Diego found himself followed by a cat, that belongs to no body.
This began in New Orleans Louisiana, every time diego set his easel up, he would turn around and
there was a Downtown Cat with no name.
Then in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Diego would turn around and there he was a Downtown Cat, they
were not the same cat of course, but had the same characteristics…Both were lazy, scruffy and friendly.
They both had immense sympathy for art and food.
Diego traveled to and from New Orleans to Santa Fe many times. The felines visited him over and over.
Diego got inspired by this unusual creatures. Diego found himself painting a cat in a surreal mix and
named it the “Downtown Cat”.
